A night out in Detroit

Those who dance are thought to be insane by the one who cannot hear the music.

Everyone thinks they look stupid dancing, most people actually DO look stupid if you look close enough. Isn't that the fun of it? Loosening up and moving in ways you wouldn't if you were sitting in a chair at school or work. The funny thing is, everyone usually dances "cautiously" while the floor is still on the empty side.
Once it fills up is when you see the good dance moves busted out!

Although dancing is a great way to have fun with your friends, there are certain dances that suck. Choreographed dances that everybody knows, they don't require much skill, and the songs are so annoying and repetitive they get stuck in your head at home and make you want to shoot someone.
I forget what they are called, but you know one or more I'm sure of it!
Cupid shuffle may be one...HATE IT!
Although it sucks, it made for a good picture of the dance floor at Cass Bar & Grille, everyone was facing the same direction and dancing together, I think it looks nice.
Do you?

It's hard to get a great shot when the dance isn't choreographed because everyone is facing different directions, dancing differently, and moving around unexpectedly.
One problem I encounter while out shooting on dance floors, is when you finally find a phenomenal dancer and set up to get good shots, they usually have a circle around them. I'm really small so I always push my way to the front. Someone is always watching and dancing at the same time, and even if I have my camera on high speed continuous shooting, it's rare that I get a shot of the dancer that speaks to me without having someone else's hand, elbow, foot, drink, head etc. sticking in my frame from the side or the top. Cropping usually helps, but sometimes that perfect shot is still ruined by the unexpected movements of the people watching next to you.
Gotta love crowded spaces!
